Pelican

Pelican is one of my favorite bands EVER. This instrumental four piece produces some of the most beautiful, epic, and heavy songs imaginable. One minute they will be melting your brain with doom and the next they will be bringing you to tears with epically beautiful melodies.

This EP is perfect in every way. At least 3 days a week I wake up to the first track (Pulse) with a cup of coffee and a cigarette.
MONOLITH IS ONE OF THE HEAVIEST SONGS EVER WRITTEN.

Pelican just left Hydra Head (which is somewhat sad, since Hydra Head is a great label) and signed to Southern Lord (the record started by the two guys of sunn O)))) and are working on a new ep with their first cover song ever.

I'm really excited to see where this band goes artistically once they start hanging out with Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson.
